Disease Talk with Survey of Human Body Systems Students

The integumentary system is the largest organ in the body, our outermost covering, and our first line of defense against foreign material that might enter our body. Use the website I paste below to learn about the three skin diseases listed. Choose at least one other disease to learn about. View at least one other website for each of the diseases to see pictures of what the diseased skin looks like and to gain additional information. Post a comment after you have completed your research. Be sure to include personal knowledge/experiences with the diseases. For example, you may have always heard how one of these spreads; you may have seen someone's skin you has had one of these diseases/disorders; etc. Describe your reaction to your new knowledge and your prior knowledge with these disorders/diseases. Remember not to mention names of people or refer specific people in your posts. Reply to at least one other person's post by asking them a question or commenting on their post.

Scabies is a type allergic reaction or an infestation cause by little microscopic mites. Scabies are also known as sarcoptes red bumbs or blisters. From reaserch scabies could be transferd from bed partners or from contact from another person with the infection. The symptoms to let you know that you have this infecton is little blister and red bumps located in the armpits, groin area, and even in the breast area. The way to get ride of scabies is to go see a doctor and get prescribe medicines like cream and lotions for the skin with 5% permethrin, lidane, or crotamiton. The second treatment is to clean all bedding and towels that may been used while you have infection. Third you may vancum clean any area that you may laid on in house the may have infestation with the scabies eggs. Next, you might need to treat household members of the family. So this is what I know

Students, some of you have had some great posts to other people's comments. However, make sure that you complete the original assignment post. You are supposed to complete research for four diseases. Include information from your "new" knowledge and your "prior" knowledge. You all are doing great. Be sure to post comments about all of the diseases though.

I had researched the disease hair loss disease, Alopeiocia. What I learned from this disease is that it is a hereditary trait that can be passed down to a family member due to fungical infection in the scalp of your hair and to hormonal problems in the skin. Treatments and medications are available for this disease, I know because I have Alopeiocia and I use treatments everyday so that my hair could grow back in my hair scalp. The only thing I can do is just use my medication everyday and pray that my hair will come back. This disease was passed down from my grandmother to me and I don't want to pass my hair loss disease to somebody in my family. So just like I said go to a Dermantologist and see if the reason why you are losing hair and let the doctor give you some medications for your scalp. Thank You.

Inverse psoriasis some symptoms of this often appear in the armpits around the groin,
Erythrodermic if this symptom appears it is extremely important that you seek medical attention!! And
Pustular Psoriasis-include white Pustules surrounding by areas of reddened skin.

Well Mrs. Clark scabies can be prevented by avoiding physical contact with infected persons and their belongings, especially clothing and bedding, treating all family and household members who had skin contact with an infected person, whether or not they are itching or have a rash, and excluding persons with scabies from school or day care until 24 hours after treatment.
