Which threats to biodiversity caused several mammal extinctions?

Hello, my biology students. We have been studying A LOT about biodiversity. The most recent subject we discussed was "threats to biodiversity." Remember, each group discussed a threat within your group and then we discussed all of them as a class. They are:
1) Habitat Loss 5) Habitat Degradation
2) Water Pollution 6) Habitat Fragmentation
3) Land Pollution 7) Edge Effect
4) Exotic Species
Your task:
A) Research the extinct animal that I assigned you and figure out the reason for its extinction.
B) See if it fits into one of the threats to biodiversity that we mentioned.
C) Reply to my blog and make a short description of your animal and its name.
D) Describe how its extinction occurred and which threat led to the animal's demise.
E) Make two additional posts as replies to other students' posts.

Several mammal extinctions were caused by habitat degradation, water pollution, and land pollution. Some mammals also were extinct because of habitat loss.

I love science, but mostly I love Mrs.Clark's class. She is a successful teacher, that gets the job done the first time.

My animal was the Dusky seaside sparrow.
a)It became extinct because it could not recover from its previous habitat disturbance.

b)The edge effect

The white-footed rabbit rat lived in Woodland of South Eastern Mainland Australia. It became extinct over 100 years ago. It was active at night, and rested during the day in a nest of dried leaves within a hollow branch low to the ground.Rabbit-rats carried their young on their teats. The last specimen was recorded in 1845, but some were claimed to have last been seen in 1930. Cats may have been predators, which may have doomed the white-footed rabbit-rat and it's habitat. It's scientific name is the conilurus albipes.

My extinct animal was the Carolina Parakeet. It was a very colorful bird with a green body, yellow head, and red around the bill. It was found from the Ohio Valley to the Gulf of Mexico, and lived in old forests along rivers. It died from habitat loss, after somebody cut down the forest taking away its living space.

The Steller's sea cow grew to 7.9 meters. The Sea cow weighted up to three tons.It also looks like a large seal and contains a whale-like tail. The sea cow would never come on the shore because the sea cow lives in the water. The creatures skin contains a black and thick color, as well a proportion shape like head that is very small.Lastly, the sea cow doesn't have any teeth in its mouth. The reason why the sea cow is extinct because of how humans were after them, and how humans used them as butter substitute, oil lamps, used to make boats, and clothing.By 1768,and about 30 years after it was discovered, the Steller's was extinct. The humans in the areas was the caused of the sea cow extinction elsewhere as well.

The extinct animal I had is the dodo bird. The dodo bird was a flightless bird native only to the island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. It is believed that by 1681 the dodo bird had become extinct.Scientist say it had become extinct by humans and the feral dogs, pigs, rats, and monkeys
introduced by Europeans to Mauritius. The threat to biodiversity that caused this animal to become extinct was:Exotic species

The white-footed rabbit is an extinct species of rabbit, which was originally found in woodlands from Adelaide to Sydney, but became restricted to south Australia. It was kitten-sized and was one of Australia's largest native rodents

The tapan was extinct because it natural forest and habitat was destroyed to make room for people. Also the farmers didn't wont them to eat their crops or stealing tame mares.

The animal that I had was the Hartebeest. Hartebeest were mainly from Somalia or Kenya just about everything in Somalia was declined, from people to land to animals. The attribute to extinction was:
1)reduction in it's habitat.
2)Somalian poachers
3)increased competition with domestic livestock.
So basically the main reason for the extinction of the Hartebeest was due to the loss of:
1)habitat loss
2)poaching
3)competition

It became extinct due to habitat loss by feral rabbits, and in ultimately World War II. Its scientific name honours Henry Palmer, who collected in the Hawaiian Islands for Walter Rothschild. It's a very small bird (15 cm from beaktip to "tail"tip, fully stretched out), a flightless member of the rail family. Tail and wings had been reduced in the course of its evolution to lengths of merely 2.5 and 5.4 cm, respectively, and it only had 8 primaries as opposed to 10 in volant rails. The bill, measuring 1.8 cm, was strong and straight, and the legs were also well-developed; in its overall proportions it was similar to the small rails of the genus Laterallus, such as the Black Rail.
